Volunteering: a learning and supported experience

Volunteering through the European Solidarity Corps programme is a learning mobility experience. In other words, is an experience centred on the individual and on the learning that can happen from living and volunteering in a new context. It can result in new approaches, knowledge and abilities, gained through non formal and informal learning processes. The volunteers become aware of these so called key competences especially through the exchange with the mentor supporting them because, as a famous expert in education once said:

"we do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience".
